Flying from Southampton, great parking at East Midlands and take a bigger bag.
From December 14th Easyjet start a new service from Southampton to Geneva. Three times a week throughout the winter on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
This gives a much needed alternative to skiers from the south coast. Flights are bookable now supposedly from as little as £31.99 each way.
Easyjet have also changed their hold baggage options. Though only valid for flights booked after 15th November, the normal hold baggage allowance has been raised to 23kg (at £13.99 per bag) and they have added a new option of a 15kg or less bag for £8.99. Although the new option may not be much use for a ski trip, we’re sure the extra 3kg on a normal bag will be very welcome.
With airlines and airports loving the addon sale, leaving your car in the airport car park can be a noticeable expense. We have recently become aware of www.justpark.com where folk rent out their spare driveway space. The options available vary as much as peoples’ houses can, but if anyone is taking advantage of the Jet2 service from East Midlands then we can thoroughly recommend TC and Tims’ place in Kegworth. It’s only 3 minutes away from the airport, easy to find and has gated off road parking. They charge £33 a week and Tim will drop you off and pick you up from the airport. Also if you mention you are coming to stay with us and Tim happens to be giving his car a clean (which he does quite regularly) then he’ll do yours too. You can contact them direct at teresa@tcees.co.uk
Happy travels.
