Morocco

Less than a 4-hour flight time from the UK but worlds away in terms of culture, the distinctly exotic aura of this North African nation is something that any keen traveller needs to experience. From the crowded souks with their fragrant aromas of exotic spices, to the historic remnants of bygone eras, and the stunning natural landscape with its rugged mountains and vast endless deserts, Morocco is waiting to be explored.

Whilst in Marrakech, visit the beautiful Koutoubia Mosque, with it’s soaring tower, where the muezzin rises to call the locals to prayer, and wander through the Djemaa El Fna where a sometimes-overwhelming blur of colours, sites and sounds will envelope you as you search for bargains across its many stalls.

Another of Morocco’s imperial cities, Fez, once stood as the capital of Morocco and now exudes the nations history and culture at every turn. Work your way through the narrow corridors of the medina admiring the rainbow of colours around you and search out a deliciously fragrant tajine filled with melt-in-the-mouth lamb and dried fruits.

When you’re ready to leave the cities, head to the magnificent scenery of the Atlas Mountains for an outdoor expedition. Whether you choose to explore on foot, bike, or off-roading vehicle, the mountains have thrills to excite you and grand vistas to soothe you.
