Here we go into summer 2021
So the summer season is going ahead. It looks likely that there will still be some restrictions in place, facemasks, limiting group sizes, number of people on a lift etc. But it seems that otherwise activities are allowed to go ahead as normal. That is assuming you can get here, but that is another subject entirely and at the time of writing we are hopeful of being on the green list by July.
The different areas as usual can’t quite agree on when to open so there are some differences.
For the most part, Morzine/Les Gets will open for the weekend of the 11th June and then fully from the 18th June. Although Les Gets only will be open for the weekends form 25th May. We are opening the Aubergade from the 11th June.
Avoriaz will open Super M for the weekends of 11th and 18th of June then full Avoriaz area from the 25th June.
At the other end, Avoriaz closes on the 29th August. Morzine & Les Gets on the 5th September, but again Les Gets will operate for the weekends up until 19th September.
Without going into too much detail here liftpass prices are €30.50 a day for the PDS, €122 for 6 days. You can also buy individual uplifts from Super M or Pleney for €5.50 or €6 respectively per run up to €30ish for 10 goes.
There are still some events happening this summer, though most have been shifted or altered slightly to conform to current restrictions.
The Passport is now happening over two weekends (19th-20th & 25th-27th June) to spread the numbers and reduce crowds, though I believe this hasn’t yet been confirmed by the authorities so may be keep an eye n this if you are keen.
The MTB World Cup is still going ahead in Les Gets 2-4th July
Spartan has been pushed back to the 20-21st August.
The tourist Office had some practice trying to entertain visitors without the lifts this winter and some of what they learnt has stuck with them. There is a full program of activities running for folk that don’t feel like using the lifts on top of all the other activities that are usually available. Check out the www.morzine-avoriaz.com website for the full list. Now we just need to add the sunshine.
